The Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) is an official  auxiliary of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod. Since 1942, the LWML has focused on affirming each woman’s relationship with Christ, encouraging and equipping women to live out their Christian lives in active mission ministries and to support global missions.  As part of the Rocky Mountain District, our local group has been active since 1987. Our goal is to nurture spiritual growth and maintain Christian fellowship among women within our church, further a love for and help provide for active participation in Christian service, and develop and maintain a greater mission consciousness through Mission Education, Mission Inspiration, and Mission Service.

We hope that all the ladies of the Rocky Mountain District are excited to join us at the District Convention this summer in Colorado Springs!   From this location where we can gaze on the stunning Pikes Peak mountain, we will come together to recognize how we can trust the Mountain Mover, letting faith be our foundation as the Holy Spirit moves us to sow seeds in others and helps us be confident in God’s love.

Joining together at Conventions is always special, and this Convention will be no different! Friday morning, we will kick things off with pre-convention activities including Bingo for Mites and service projects to benefit MOST Ministries and Operation Gratitude.  Then we will jump into our business meetings that will be enhanced by Bible Studies led by our RMD District Pastoral Counselors, Rev. Duane Meissner and Rev. Nathanael Biberdorf; speakers from Orphan Grain Train, Lutheran High, and LCMS Mission Advancement; and a Keynote address by Pastor Gary Piepkorn the past National LWML Pastoral Counselor.  Friday night, we look forward to a moving Worship service with Pastor Gary Schuschke, pastor at Faith Lutheran in Colorado Springs, serving as the Proclaimer. On Saturday, our enrichment sessions will feature the National LWML Representative, an update from Ysleta Lutheran Mission Human Care, and a presentation on His Little Feet International Children’s Choir.  Our Saturday evening banquet will feature Bri Jones, a singer-songwriter whose music blends the raw storytelling of folk with the soul-stirring depth of the blues.  It is all going to be uplifting and unforgettable!
